NEW SILVER OMNIRULES (updated/new 09/06/10)

1A. Keep a good behavior! and falling under that: No flaming/arguing, RHQ has had quite a bit of this in the past and honestly it doesnt need much more. if you and someone else want to get something over yourselves, keep it at a debate level by not throwing insults at each other because that will obviously cause bad connections somehow. taking it over PM/Steam/MSN/whatever IM client you use may also be exceptional.

1B. Yes, that includes making a controversial post likely to cause flame, and then saying "what it's my opinion can't we have opinions". It's classified as trolling, or an attempt to start a flame war.

2. Make good posts! another essence of good user behavior would be contentful, thoughtful posts, I'm not saying you should only post massive wordwalls and nothing else, but making reaction images constantly and just saying a couple words isn't a good idea of a post (though it would be good to make a joke once in a while, not excessively) Basically, just dont spam by making small/pointless posts and only post when you feel is necessary. Something minor here that may fall under this: No autoplaying videos. (with the exception of spoilered ones)

3. Post things in their correct sections/threads. RHQ has quite a few sections ranging from discussion about serious things to joking forum games, and they have stickies inside of them to keep suffice so a bunch topics about the same thing being made. be sure to check through them to be sure you're posting in the right section/thread. Things belong in their correct sections no matter what. And if you're new and do not know where a thread belongs, ask an experienced user where it would belong.

4. No pornography/NSFW content, to clarify some things; the definition of this is basically an image/video/ect that will possibly get an innocent user in deep trouble with their parents (minus swearing.) Even a stickman animation wouldnt be exceptional. We (The mods) are quite strict on this. Masturbation discussion somewhat falls under this.

5. Treat swearing as a privledge rather then a toy. Things that fall under this include; Swearing in thread titles, swearing at other users (see rule 1) and most importantly, abusing them/Swearing alot in posts. If the earlier guidelines arent followed swearing may be enforced completely. Along with that, treat discussing "Inappropriate" things as a privledge too.

6. Stay on topic and do not derail! If a thread is derailed punishment may insue and the thread locked/deleted.

7A. Only bump threads if necessary! "Bumping" is generally just a term for posting on old threads and moving them to the most recent posts in the section/forum. The discussion at hand is most likely dead in the topic, but if you feel you should really bump something; provide a good reason along with it, the excuse listed in 7B also is an excuse.

7B. Search If there is already a topic on something you want to make a thread about! Lets say, you want to make a thread about quake 3, but there's a topic already made about it that found using search.php. you are free to bump it at the suffice of multiple threads on the same subject. If an L&F thread has already been posted about it, you MAY make a new topic on it as long as the previous thread about it was posted a long period of time ago. (eg, around 5 months back or so)
Writing "old" in a L&F topic counts as lack of content.

8. If a mod warns you through PM, you will be expected to act on it, and send a sensible PM back. Ignoring the mod will result in a further offense. We just want you to do this to clarify that you're listening.

9. Do not bypass the filter. Things that are filtered consist of certain websites that shouldn't be posted, racial slurs, and sexist slurs. There is generally no excuse for doing this.

10. No racism/sexism. Bypassing the filter sortof falls under this seeing alot of slurs used for racism/sexism are censored, but even then when you aren't bypassing the filter you shouldn't be expressing racism/sexism regardless of the person you are. If you are Racist/Sexist, don't talk about it, because if you do you'll likely be getting banned.

11. Keep your sig height below 100 pixels. I believe there is already a filter for images that are over 100 pixels, but this is here because it's possible to bypass this by using two different images. Don't do it.
